Graduation cont'd

Just an update on what i am going through right now... I am currently undergoing my trial experiments that is supposedly going to last for a month. this trial is demanding in terms of i need to do experimental work on daily basis (NO cuti for me here..huhuhuks... but i have always love my labwork, so there is no problem there..=^.^=)

Well, about my graduation, graduatian Ana cuma berlangsung dari pukul 7.30 - 9 pm (15-3-2010) je..tp cuti 2 hari tetap tak cukup..wahahaha..mana ada cuti yg cukup kan. especially for me. Though everyone was so happy dapat jumpa family, [erm... lama tau tak jumpe mak & ayah, adalah dalam 6 months jugak], tp semua org pun penat jugak..travelling, jet lag, tak cukup tido..hahahaha tapi makan cukup jer semua org.kihkihkih .kan aritu ana kata that my samsung camera abes bateri ryte before grad ceremony kan..so, skrg ana nak persembahkan pics yang sempat snap using my phone camera..


tak banyak pun sbb terlampau busy experiencing the graduation myself..hihihiks..time korg graduate nnti korg pahamlah... Ana sampai kat dataran winthrop tu around 5.45 to 6 pm kot..sibuk2 lah gi undercroft sbb konon nak tgk cenderahati UWA yg boleh di beli utk dijadikan kenangan..huhu, tp kecik je booth dia bukak, yg besar cuma booth photography..tak bestlah..so kami pun ke kolam tu tuk bergambar..

Around 6.30 pm all graduands were called into the big Hall. i left the kolam itik and marched forward..wahahha..

masa beratur nak masuk dewan, ada sorg dipertanggungjawabkan tuk betul2kan robe graduands..hahahaha... tak sangka, org yg lagi seminit nak graduate ni ada yang tak tau pakai robe lagi..hohoho, but i appreciate their effort to make the event successful.

sampai kat my seat, i was given this file. atas tu ada sticker with my name on it. and inside it there was my masters degree.. "looking innocent"... masa nampak jer degree dalam file tu rasa cam ok, aku dah graduate, lagi 20 minit aku akan cabut early..hahahaha..tp niat tak kesampaian..tau sbb aper?

tgklah sendiri betapa dekatnya ana duk ngan stage! yess that's right..i was way in front!! there is no way for me to "E S C A P E " kuang kuang kuang..might as well enjoy the view kan.. graduation ceremony tu taklah se boring yg kita sangkakan. ada  ucapan sket2 then ada org men organ besar tu [nampak tak benda alah silinder tu...kuat betul bunyi dia...cam nak terkoyak tympanic membrane kitorg], ada jugak live classical music being played by students doing bachelor of music...

lah tmpat all the winthrop professors from school of anatomy & human biology, juga profs from school of dentristry duduk..

terkejuts kejap bila Brendan duk depan ana..hahaha, nak menguap pun rasa bersalah..kihkihkih.

as usual, pas grad, ana cepat2 hantar balik grad robes kaler hijau tu kat AFUWA nyer org [tmpt ana sewa baju tu] and dapatkan balik AUD20 duit deposit..

Off to Makan2 cafe after that..nilah first time makan kat situ, sbb ana biasanya makan kat restoran Batavia, tp Batavia tutup on Monday..it's their rest day..huh..jenuh nak abeskan sepinggan nasik goreng sambal ala2 kedai Nordin Kampung baru tuh..Burrrrrp..Alhamdulillah..rezeki..kihkihkih..[sian ayah order nasi goreng ikan masin tak dapat..huhuhu]

because i love this pics, maka ana letak kat sini as my last pic..gmbr nie taken while i was queuing to get into the Hall. i personally think that the view was breathtaking. don't u? till next time..da! =^.^=

Masters Graduation 2010

Heya ols,
 First and foremost i am at my happiest exactly at 6pm today as i heard the big news that my ethics had been approved. well, i guess that means W O R K. but that also means that i am so much closer to my goal. yup, to graduate as a PhD student. i guess, i am a person driven by passion for academia..what a cliche...harharhar

yippie!!! it's finally the time of day when i can blog again! and didn't i promised u guys of pretty pictures of my graduation? hehehe..tonite ana akan letak semua gambar2 yang chanteks2 tuh..

huhuhu..kamera samsung ku abes bateri ryte before graduation ceremony, but trust me, my iphone camera took over after that and it was all just fine,,hehehehe...

hehehe tgklah apa saya buat sementara menunggu org lain bersiap2..

in a nutshell, graduation day Ana dijalankan pada 15/03/2010 di Winthrop Hall, University of Western Australia. hall yg ana graduate tu biaser ajer..yang luar biasanya adalah pemandangan kat luar hall tue.. chanteksss   sgt!!! saya sgt suker!!!!... apatahlagi amik gambar berlatarbelakangkan graduands lain yg samer2 pakai robe jugak..rasa cam masuk dunia Harry Potter kejaps..hihihiks...looking at my robes, nampak sgt I am from Slytherin..huhuhu..tak suker Voldermort.

nampak tak keseronokan di muka kami semua? hehehe.. padahal ana masa tuh tak tido lebih 24 jam tau..because that night whole night wat written work sampai kul 4 pg..Then 4.30 bersiap gi amik my parents kat Perth International Airport.. ana n Hubby masing stok minum cofee n cappuchino bergelas2 to stay awake, and worth every seconds of it..

we took an extra length to make this graduation a memorable one sbb ana nyer graduation medik masa undergrad dulu cam memain jer..tak macam betul2 pun..so this one better be perfect and my parents presence telah meng komplit kan nya..hahahaha..teruknya bahasa yg ana gunakan nie..sorylah yer..paham2 sendirilah.. ni bukan entry yg formal pun..ni sekadar entry conteng2 jer..wuwuwuwu...

saya bila dah penat berposig secara formal, teringin gak nak posing secara tak formal kan..kalau tak nampak cam ana ni skema plak kan...

evidently bukan ana sorg jer yg happy during graduation day tu..ayah, mak n my hubby pun happy jugak.. di sini ana mentestingkan diri sendiri sbg fotographer..chanteks jugak kan gambar yg ana shoot..hehehe..ada bakat jugak saya nie,,,hohoho

Lounge transformation

Heya ols.

I have been taking some time off from life and more on work...huhuhu..shame on me.
but those sacrifices are important especially for a big event that is happening this weekend..
Yep, you heard it right..T H I S  W E E K E N D.hehehehe (sooooo excited!!!)

well if it ain't that obvious yet, let me start off the big weekend with this entry..
and i know the title is cliche..about some lounge transformation..but that is because it is just a beginning to the many exciting things that are happening on my life.

a F I R S T exciting event that i am going to is tomorrow. it will be a welcoming party at Brendan's. yerp..I'm gonna go for a party y'all!! i'll be posting some pictures soon. hihihiks..

d S E C O N D exciting thing that is happening in my life (all during this short weekend) is the transformation of my lounge room into some magical guest room.. and the transformation just made my heart flutter..hAaaaAaaAaa..

you know i love decorations,right?
you know i absolutely adore each and every details of interior decorating too, right?
and you also know that i am a medical scientist..what a bummer huh? all of my creativity is wasted in medicine..

Regardless, interior decorating becomes a hobby..that i happen to be very good at (hahaha..perasan)

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 21(ANI): The caning of three Malaysian women, who were found guilty of committing illicit sex in violation of Shariah law, has caught immediate international reaction and interest, with a number of foreign media running articles and commentary on the issue.

The three women were sentenced to be whipped under Section 23(2) of the Federal Territory Shariah Criminal Offences Act 1997 (Illicit Sex) for engaging in illicit sex.

"The rapid growth of Malaysia's shariah court system in recent years is threatening to undermine the country's reputation as a tolerant, progressive Muslim nation that has been able to attract sizable foreign investments," The Wall Street Journal quoted political analysts, as saying.
In the article 'Malaysia Says Muslim Women Caned', Wall Street Journal's writer James Hookway wrote: "The move to cane the women under the country's Islamic shariah laws has raised fresh concerns about the growing political and judicial influence of Islam in what traditionally has been one of the world's more moderate Muslim nations."
Earlier, several organizations in Malaysia, including Sisters in Islam (SIS) had said that the three cases constituted further discrimination against Muslim women in Malaysia.
"The expediency and the secrecy reeks of bad faith and betrays a troubling disregard for public opinion," said Dr Hamidah Marican, SIS executive director.
Bar Council chairman Ragunath Kesavan urged the Government to abolish whipping and to comply with international norms and principles on it. (ANI)

my first impression upon reading the article was annoyed. simply and undeniably annoyed. evidently, those people who wrote such comments were clearly oblivious to the existence (and the enforcement) of 2 very distinctive courts of law in our country. The mainstream, civil law and the Islamic, Syariah law. the separating line between the two is simply the religion; Islam, which is worshipped by 60% of the entire Malaysian population, and as the name implies, affect only these group of people. if the one law is adequate, there will never be the other. obviously, the one law (the civil law) is not.

the establishment of Syariah law began even before the invasion of western countries  and the contents were written by Islamic scholars under the guidance of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. who received revelation from GOD himself. UNDERSTAND THIS IMS: THE CONTENTS CAN NEVER BE CHANGED!!!!! Mere mortals should never meddle with the words of ALLAH..Owh, Did i say NEVER? the only problem was that the  syariah law was never properly reinforce in Malaysia which leads to the amplification of crimes and the downward spiral of Muslim Malaysian moral standards over the past few decades. I salute the initiative taken by the current government to slowly start abiding to Syariah law because for so long it had been only a nominal member of the government. it was there but not doing anything productive (no pun intended).

Malaysia is only 53 years old this year. it is younger than many politicians governing the country. it is way too green to be compared to even it’s neighbouring countries like Thailand and Indonesia. so it is suffice to say that the world has never really known Malaysia quiet yet. the country is still like many 53-year-olds out there looking for it’s true identity. one thing for sure, Islam is going to play a large influence on that and i say that because in our Rukunegara, which summarizes the country’s principal, Religion [kepercayaan kepada Tuhan] is always first way before, Loyalty to the King and country [ kesetiaan kepada raja dan negara], constitutional supremacy [keluhuran perlembagaan], the rule of law [kedaulatan undang-undang] and politeness and morality [kesopanan dan kesusilaan]. Malaysian school children read this and memorize this over and over again. it is our identity, it is who we are. we have always known that religion comes first be it Islam or Christianity or Buddhism or Hinduism and the list goes on. And because Malaysia is a very tolerant country, that’s why we have public holidays to celebrate each major religious occasions that i do not experience when i am over sea. Well you know where i am if you read my profile. So why do other countries still insist to interfere on our very intimate Malaysian Identity. Why?

I am a Muslim woman who is proud beyond words with the exercise of canning (when it is done judicially). i know there are people out there who believe that canning constitutes discrimination against Muslim women, but hey, they are saying that due to the complication of not studying the religion as deep as it is intended to be and to have a loud mouth all at the same time. and sometimes, we all know that the mouth speaks before the head even had a chance to think. that is what it is. to these loud mouthed Sister in what not, i suggest them to open and READ the Quran. 

the funniest and i think the cherry on top of the ice cream is the comment made by a bar council chairman. He urged the Government to abolish whipping and to comply with international norms and principles on it. i took the meaning literally and ended up ROTFL like mad. the international norms and principal on illicit sex is N O T H I N G. is that what you expect them to do? Nothing? illicit sex is never an issue out there. In fact there is no such thing as illicit sex in the dictionary of international norms. Sex is just sex. do you expect us to be that low of a moral standard? I DON’T THINK SO!!!

And with that your honour, i rest my case.

March 2010 is fast approaching and my time table is getting more packed by the second.
as far as research is concerned, i am starting my animal work in a week's time, ordering, acclimatising, doing trials and first collection by early next month. this is very exciting for me. the city girl who never likes any living furry animals is working with animals now. how irony..and it gets even more irony when i actually love what i do. L O V E  I T !!! word can not describe it enough for me. after bulan 4 InsyaAllah boleh commence the big study cohort that i have planned for my project. wahhh..tak sabar2 nyer..[muka penuh dgn anticipation =^.^=]

last few weeks i have been busy with attending courses..namely DEXA and radioisotope courses. and do you know what that means? YES!! i will be working with loads of X-ray radiation and radioisotope for my project. Huh, Abah sure suker kan abah kan.. your daughter plays with radioactive just like you..Owh forgot to mention that my dad is a Radiation Physicist... radiation nie cam kuih je lah bagi abah..senang sgt..huhuhu, if only i inherited that part of you too..ngahahahahahaha,

my masters graduation will be on the 15th of March 2010. tiket booking 2 je, for hubby n suhaili...but i really need to book another two because mak n ayah pun nak dtg jg. Tho i have graduated before (for my undergrad medicine) this will be the first time that any of my parent akan datang for my graduation, so pardon my overexcitement..hohoho. baju grad dah tempah, AUD100, tp deposit AUD 20 akan dipulangkan balik...skrg tggl tiket mak n ayah je belum bli..so yg belum buat hanya tempah tiket flight n tempah tiket masuk dewan lagi 2 keping....owh terlupa nak gitaw, for the occasion, ana ada beli Glove tau..yelar, nti masa amik ijazah sarjana tu mesti kene salam2 ngan VC UWA kan..commels tau glove nie..ada ribbon ngan glitter lg..VERY Intan Suhana Zulkafli..hahahaha

though i know i will be busy, i still couldn't help but to feel exhilirated that mak, ayah, aiman, omar, rina, awin n nani are coming this june.. ramai kan..awin n nani are my cousin sisters. awin form 3, nani darjah 3 kot..wallahualam. yg penting dorg akan dtg ke perth nie for another vacation..selonotnyer...

mak saje je bawak kazen 2 org tue.. sbb dorg xpenah gi oversea lg..lgpun if ada awin n nani, bolehla dorg berkawan ngan rina..rina sebaya awin.and.boleh wat revision PMR sesama jugak..kan kan kan..smart tak mak ana? so rina, jangan Berangan nak main Gaia je spjg masa kat Perth nnti tau. PMR dah dekat time tuh..wahahahahahahahahahahaha.

last fews weeks Ana ada selitkan citer my family yang datang mem 'v a c a t i o n' kan diri memasing kat Perth nie kan..well, i posted some of the best pictures, when masa tue they were displaying their best behaviours..

so i guess, lu orang sumer tahu kan..my cheeky side, mana boleh lepaskan mereka begitu saja! this time let's see what actually happened behind all of their pretty poses...CANDID time! and of course, i included dialogue..kih kih kih ..anggaplah ini merupakan rancangan BAM BAM BOOM!!!

so here is the reminder... peserta2 tuk episode kali nie terbahagi kpd 2 group..kikiki..

team satu: team Gombak...juga dikenali sbg team "senyum"..dan korang perasan tak senyuman yang nampak cam boleh menang peraduan ubat gigi tue?  sudah pastilah senyuman ayah..kikiki..(p/s: OMAR, tu senyum ke? kenapa muka cam tersepit jer? hehehe)

team kedua ialah team pengacara program, tentulah suatu team yang awesome..muahahahaha..,itulah team Ana!!!

tapi nampaknya Rina cam bjaya menepis serangan dgn dua jari jugak... what's with the two fingers? i'm puzzled guys.hahahahaha

so last picture is Rina dan 2 jarinya yg kiut..jari jer yang kiut tau..kakakakakakaka.dia kata dia nak curik gambar nie masuk kat photo bucket tau..tp kalau dia curik mmg berdosalah if tak mintak kebenaran pengacara program dulu..hohohoho...
